Pigmentation
Pigmentation means colouring, your skin gets its colour from a pigment called melanin. When your skin cells become damaged or unhealthy, it affects melanin production. Damage caused by the sun, specifically UVA rays can cause your skin to develop unwanted ‘dark patches’. This is commonly known as hyperpigmentation.
Triggers in younger skin are caused through the alteration in hormone levels from use of the contraceptive pill and pregnancy which result in patchy, dark spots, often on the upper lip and forehead.
It is difficult to prevent pigmentation, particularly if the cause is hormone levels. However, sun damage can be prevented by simply wearing SPF everyday, not using sunbeds and keeping your face covered from the sunlight.

Dermaquest Mangobrite resurfacer uses a complex of vitamin c, orange stem cells and mango pulp and aids in repairing all levels of hyper pigmentation. Kojic acid will also diminish dark spots and reduce melanin production for a more even skin tone.

Dermaquest Pumpkin resurfacer
This treatment is an advanced exfoliation process excellent for age management, blemishes and hyper pigmentation. This can be carried out as a standalone treatment, however to maximize treatment outcome a course of 6 is recommended.
